I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the inconsistency between the approved package ordering system and what correctional facilities are actually allowing inmates to receive.

Your ordering website requires customers to enter an inmate's DIN number before any products can be viewed or purchased. Once that information is entered, the website displays only the items that are supposedly approved for that specific inmate and facility. Based on that process, customers reasonably assume that every item available for purchase has already been authorized for delivery.

However, after placing an order using only the items your system identified as approved, the correctional facility refused to release certain products to the inmate, claiming they were not permitted.

This raises an obvious question: if the facility will not allow an inmate to possess these items, why are they presented as approved and available for purchase in the first place?

The current system creates unnecessary confusion, delays, financial inconvenience, and frustration for families who are simply trying to support their incarcerated loved ones while following the rules established by the Department of Correction and its approved vendor.

I respectfully request that this matter be investigated and that one of the following actions be taken:

* Ensure that the online catalog accurately reflects each facility's current property restrictions before orders are accepted.
* Improve communication between the Department of Correction and its approved package vendor so that unavailable or prohibited items cannot be purchased.
* Provide a clear explanation for why items listed as approved are later rejected by the facility.
* Implement procedures to prevent customers from paying for products that inmates ultimately cannot receive.

Families should not have to guess whether items listed on an approved ordering website will actually be delivered. If the website is intended to reflect facility-approved property lists, then it should do so accurately and consistently.
